Deluxe Portal is now a free software in every sense of the word. As of today, Deluxe Portal is under the GPL v2 license. For those not familiar with the GPL, it is the license of choice for many open source software applications, including the Linux kernel. Click here for more information about the GPL.
There is now a SourceForge page for Deluxe Portal, where you can browse/checkout the SVN repository, submit bug reports, and upload patches to be included in Deluxe Portal.
I am still in the early stages of getting this set up, and I am also new to running this sort of project. That said, I am very open to suggestions of any type. And lastly, contribution of code, documentation, or anything else you can provide is appreciated! |

It's been two and a half years since this site closed its doors, and Deluxe Portal was no longer offered. My reasons for doing this were twofold: lack of time, and lack of sales. With school and a job, I simply did not have time to continue being the support team, business owner, primary developer, and documentation writer. I sincerely regret the customers that were forced to seek other alternatives after I closed down.
Since that time, I have done very little with Deluxe Portal. I recently realized, however, that it's not doing anybody any good just sitting on my computer. So I'm offering it to the world: Deluxe Portal is now available for free. I cannot guarantee updates; whether or not I will continue to work on it, or bring in other developers who would like to work on it, depends primarily on the amount of interest displayed. There's no point in me or anybody else working on Deluxe Portal if no one is using it. On the other hand, if it becomes more popular, then I'd be surprised if it ceased to receive updates.
Also, as you can see, deluxeportal.com was snapped up by a domain squatter. I intended to renew the domain, but forgot to, and I guess that's what happens. So I'm having to use deluxeportal.net. deluxeportal.org also works. |

The price of Deluxe Portal is now $100 USD. We feel that this price still offers a great value for the money, and is very competitive. The price of professional installation service has dropped slightly, to $50 USD.
We also have a new ordering system now. It makes it much easier to purchase multiple licenses and installations. It will also automatically handle bulk discounts now. Credit card ordering is expected to be added within the next two to three weeks. For now, you may use PayPay, cashier's checks, or money orders.
These are the new bulk pricing rates:
1-4 licenses: $100 each (no discount)
5-9 licenses: $90 each
10-14 licenses: $80 each
15+ licenses: $70 each
These rates are cumulative. For example, if you purchased 9 licenses, they would be $90 each. If you then purchased one more license at a later date, that license would cost $80. |

Deluxe Portal 2.0.0 final is finally here! This is now the latest stable version of Deluxe Portal. It is recommended that people still using the 1.x series upgrade to 2.0.0. However, 1.x will still be available and supported for six months.
The user's manual is also finally available. You can download it in PDF format. For people upgrading from version 1, it is recommended that you check out the feature overview as well.

The system that allows you to renew licenses is now available. For those that need a reminder, licenses expire one year after the purchase date. You can see when this is in the members area. Once your license has expired, you may continue using Deluxe Portal. However, you will not be able to download upgrades. Renewals are $20 USD per year. Licenses purchased before May 10, 2003 never expire.
To renew your license(s), go to the members area. You will see a renewal link directly below your list of licenses. Click that link to begin. If all of your licenses are exempt from expiration (purchased before May 10, 2003), you will not see a renewal link. |

There are very few things remaining to be done in 2.0 final. Basically, there are just a few final bug fixes that must be put in place. The manual is currently 88 pages, and should grow to somewhere around 100+. It is close to being complete, and probably will be within a few days. The vBulletin 3 -> DP 2 import script is basically done. It just needs a little more testing, but it will be ready to go in time for DP 2.0 final.
There will be a new ordering system unveiled when 2.0 final is released. It makes it easier to make purchases, especially when buying multiple licenses. Credit card support will hopefully be added in shortly after its debut. Due to the longer than expected wait for DP 2 final, and the fact that the renewal purchasing system is not done yet, everyone's license expiration date is being extended for three additional months, free of charge.
Of course, the big question is, when does this get released? The answer is: before the end of the month. |
